Engineering For Kids (EFK) offers opportunities for the youth to get excited about STEM
through fun, engaging and hands-on programs. A quality program requires detailed planning,
teacher hiring and training, supply preparing, and administrative support so that your child will
have high quality experience.
We understand that things happen and plans sometimes cannot be met. We try our best to
accommodate your change of needs. As a significant amount of the cost is invested long before a
program starts, refunds and credits vary based on the amount of advanced notice you are able to
provide.

PARTICIPANT CANCELLATION AND CHANGE
• If you want to make any cancellation or changes to a program you signed up, the request
must be received in writing to: portlandmetro@engineeringforkids.net
• All of our programs have limited space to ensure a high-quality experience. There will be
NO refund, credit, or prorated tuition for scheduled absences, no-shows or days missed
due to illness or injury.
Summer Camps
Summer camp programs include any programs taking place during summer school break.
Cancellation
• For any cancellation, you may choose to get a refund or keep partial tuition as credit.
• Credit can be used for any EFK program held in 12 months since the cancellation date
and will become invalid afterwards.
1. Cancellation Dates:
• Before April 1st: 65% tuition paid for refund; or 80% of tuition paid as future credit.
• April 1st - April 30th: 35% tuition paid for refund; or 60% of tuition paid as future credit.
• May 1st and after: 0% of tuition paid for refund or credit.

2. Schedule Change:
If you want to change a camp to a different week or change a camp schedule (full day to half day,
morning camp to afternoon camp or vise versa):
• Change requests must be made in writing at least 30 days prior to your original program’s start
date. Otherwise, we cannot accommodate the request.
• Changes to a program will incur a $29 administrative fee per participant for each registered
camp.
• Changes are subject to availability.

School Year Programs & Birthday Party
School year programs include any programs (including but not limited to: after school classes,
weekend classes, no school day camps) during the school year.

Cancellation
• For any cancellation, you may choose to get a refund or keep partial tuition as credit.
• Credit can be used for any EFK program held in 12 months since the cancellation date
and will become invalid afterwards.

• More than 45 days prior: 65% tuition paid for refund; or 80% of tuition paid as future credit.
• 45-20 days prior: 35% tuition paid for refund; or 60% of tuition paid as future credit.
• 0-20 days prior: 0% of tuition paid for refund or credit.
2. Schedule Change:
If you would like to change a program to a different one or a birthday party to a different date:
• Change requests must be made in writing at least 30 days prior to your original program’s start
date. Otherwise, we cannot accommodate the request.
• Changes to a program will incur a $29 administrative fee per participant for each registered
class/program.
• Changes are subject to availability.

EFK CANCELLATION AND CHANGE
• If EFK must cancel before the start of a program session due to weather, health orders, or civic
mandates, a make-up program will be offered. If a make-up program is not available, you will
receive a 100% credit for another EFK program.
• If EFK must cancel BEFORE the start of a program session for any reason NOT due to
weather, health orders, or civic mandates, you will receive a 100% refund. Or you may keep the
paid tuition as full credit for another EFK program.
• If EFK must cancel AFTER the start of a program session for any reason NOT due to weather,
health orders, or civic mandates, you will receive a prorated refund. Or you may keep the
prorated tuition as credit for another EFK program.
